On a manga roll......

capital scandal
I have been reading so much manga lately! I'm unstoppable!

I picked up a fun horror manga called Uzumaki which is about this town taken over by spirals. I love horror stories, and it's hard for me to find American ones that I like as the field seems to be entirely dominated by either Stephen King or Laurel K. Hamilton clones.

I'm also two volumes into that nice horror/detective manga Kurosagi Corpse Delivery Service!! I love this so much!! The best part is that I was reading it on the Metro and the woman sitting next to me was seriously disturbed by the pictures of dead and blood splattered nude corpses appearing on the pages. She slowly edged away as if I was some sort of psycho. It's not any bloodier than what's in a Stephen King book and people certainly feel no shame about reading those.

I've got volume 14 of Wallflower and could Sunako-chan and Kyohei-kun just make out already!! Jeez! Actually, I liked Yuki in this volume. He got some nice and sympathetic stories.

I also read volume 1 of Eerie Queerie, which I picked up for curiousity's sake, but I don't think I'm interested in the rest. While the idea of the spirit of a girl taking over a guy's body to declare her love for another guy and then that guy falls for the guy taken over should have my name written all over it, in fact, it's a little too girly, even for me.

In my stack of things to read, I've got a Korean manhwa, Dorothy of Oz, which I picked up because I love Baum's books and Toto was soooooooo cute on the cover.

I'm also got Missing volume one, which [info]meganbmoore was raving about the other day.

Song of the Day: Rama Rama Kya Hai Ye Drama

  • Jan. 10th, 2008 at 7:01 AM
Rani!

This song has been on my iPod for about a month and I love it! It's so catchy!

That said, I'd like to take this opportunity to complain about two things:

1) Our local Indian movie theatre has not been showing the movies I want to see! I missed Goal, Khoya Khoya Chand, and Welcome and it looks like Sunday and Halla Bol won't be playing either! Instead, we've had Taare Zameen Paar on two screens for the last couple of weeks. What is up with that?! I love Aamir and all, but seriously!! I want Ajay Devgan, now!!

2) What is with all of these movies that aren't putting in proper songs?! Or that are, but make the title track a bogus music video over the end credits?! It makes me cranky. I loved Bhool Bhuliya, but I spent half the movie waiting for the songs to start - which they never did. I would rather that films not promote soundtracks rather than give me lame song picturizations.

/cranky

Edited to add: Just look at this promo for Halla Bol!! I don't need to see some stupid autistic kid and Aamir Khan on two screens. I want this movie. :P
