Song of the Day: Main Hoon Don

Big B

From the original Don. Dhost? Dhushman? DON!

In the light of Karzzzzzz coming out, and after the disaster of RGV ke Aag, the question is: Why has Bollywood jumped on the film remaking bandwagon?

Compare today's Main Hoon Don with yesterday's. I love my Shahtown, but Amitabh's is the superior picturization and song.

Watch the tiger head! Oh no, who is it?!

Devdas: The Black Hole

srk!
Being ill yesterday, and unable to do anything other than sit in bed, I took the opportunity to watch Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Devdas. The story is a tragedy, but not the tragedy I was expecting. I want to see the 1955 version to compare the stories.

Devdas, Devdas, blah, blah, etc. )

Hotaru no Hikari!!!!!!

  • Jan. 13th, 2008 at 6:09 PM
bunty aur babli
Along with angsty, beautiful Devdas, I also managed to cram the entire Jdrama Hotaru no Hikari into my viewing schedule yesterday.

I'm really into office jdramas these days if anyone has some to recommend: this, Himitsu no Hanazono, and Sapuri were so good! The (excellent) premise is that our heroine, Hotaru - hence the title, is a woman who appears together and keeps her head down at work, but as soon as she is home, she puts on sweats and drinks beer from a can!! (That last bit in particular seems to horrify people on the show.) There are many satisfying scenes of Hotaru swilling beer and reading manga while eating snacks and wearing sweats. One day her happy little nest is disturbed when her boss, for various plot reasons, has to move in with her!! OH NO!! I wonder what will happen!

It could be that Fujiki Naohito comes across better when not fighting the ultra-charismatic and attractive Yamapi for the leading lady, but he was super-excellent in this.

Spoilers for the entire show, but you need to watch it even though the main guy was the leaden Tada in ProDai )
