Rani!

Happy Mother's Day from my favorite Filmi Ma - Kirron Kher - singing and dancing her heart out in Devdas!

(If Sikander is as good as his ma, I can't wait to see Woodstock Villa.)

Devdas: The Black Hole

srk!
Being ill yesterday, and unable to do anything other than sit in bed, I took the opportunity to watch Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Devdas. The story is a tragedy, but not the tragedy I was expecting. I want to see the 1955 version to compare the stories.

Devdas, Devdas, blah, blah, etc. )

OM SHANTI OM!

srk!
I have had a glouriously relaxed three day weekend. I'm making oatmeal cookies at the moment. They're baking so I have time to gush about Om Shanti Om, which I saw on Sunday afternoon. A 12pm show. There was a long line to get in.

Om Shanti Om!!!! )

Anyways, I loved the songs; cried a few times; and laughed a lot. It was a such a good movie. I'll end with two words: Dhoom 5. Yes.

Hum Tum

saif
I finally got around to watching Hum Tum this weekend. I was not disappointed. The movie takes place through flashbacks, through most of which Saif has a series of terrible hair-dos. Including this one - his "Tom Cruise" look:

No, he really says that it is his "Tom Cruise" look.

Anyways, the plot kind of riffs on the "When Harry Met Sally" friends that fall in love thing, but better because Rani Muckerji will make you cry and Meg Ryan doesn't and Saif certainly fits the part of the roguish ladies man.

Kirron Kher, who only plays people's mothers or harem mothers, steals every scene she is in. I love Kirron Kher for not only being married to Anupum Kher and taking 15 years out of her career to raise her kid, but then coming back to acting and being awesome at it!
