I have no Internet #4: Bachna Ae Hasseno!

Oh, Ranbir! Not too many actors could make a character who is a self-described lady “killer” into a sympathetic human. Bachna Ae Hasseno is the story of Raj (Ranbir Kapoor) and the three ladies who shaped his romantic life – played by Minisha Lamba, Bipasha Basu, and Deepika Padukone.

(Normally, I would totally be turned off by stills like this...)

Lady #1:

Minisha Lamba plays Mahi, whom Raj meets on a Eurorail trip through Switzerland at the height of DDLJ mania. ”Beware ) It’s a very sweet story and Minisha does a good job with innocent Mahi, although her clothes are terrible! She spends the first part of the story in this awful green genie-pants and pink top combination.

Lady #2:

Bipasha Basu plays Radhika, who gets the worst of Raj’s adolescent treatment. I’m not a huge Bipasha Basu fan, but I thought she did a great job here. She plays the typical Bipasha sex-pot character except that this one has an internal life and motivations! Who would have thought that attractive women can have brains, as well? ”Spoilers…lovely )

Lady #3:

Deepika’s character was played up as a female version of Raj’s “killer,” but I don't think that’s quite right. ”You )

I really, really enjoyed this film. The message was wonderful and far from the macho image that the title song puts forward. The music and the picturizations were great, as was the acting and dancing. I think Ranbir has a great career as a hero in front of him and Bipasha proved that she’s more than just a hot body. It’s too bad Deepika didn’t have more to do; I hope Chandni Chowk to China will give her more of an opportunity to stretch her acting wings.

The music for Bachna ae Haseeno has been released! I think this song is really pretty (and Ranbir isn't looking so bad, either!)

While I don't think this movie is going to be meaningful in any way, it does look like it's going to be fun to watch.

Song of the Day: Jab Se Tere Naina

Rani!

I woke up with this song in my head. I wonder what I was dreaming about last night...

Anyways, one of the things that I love about Bollywood is the understanding they have that women enjoy their eye candy just as much as men do. If we're going to objectify people, let's make it equal opportunity!

Also, here are Saif and Shahtown mocking both Ranbir AND Akshay (He's taking all of their 'shaadi' business.) during the Filmfare awards! Classic!
